- Personal information: date of birth, nationality, marital status…
- Academic and professional background: degrees, experience, publications, memberships in associations, hobbies…
When we ask for information to access a service or feature, some fields will be mandatory. If you choose not to fill them out, we may not be able to offer you these services.
III. HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
1. For what purposes and on what legal basis do we use personal data?
Depending on the purpose for which we use your data, we may need to process different information. Here's how we use your data based on your situation:
As a site user, we use your information to:

- Help with your real estate project: buying, renting, booking an appointment with an agency…
- Estimate your property: you can enter the details of your property to receive a free online estimate. If desired, a partner agent can refine this estimate. In this case, your information will be sent to the agencies you selected.
- Obtain free quotes for your move. In this case, your information will be sent to the partner companies.
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- Manage billing for paid services if necessary.
In some cases, we may need to share your data with partner companies to allow you to access the requested services.
As an atHome partner, we use your information to:
- Create and manage your professional account on https://www.athome.de/pro, to provide access to the requested features, products, and services.
- Manage our business relationship: if you are a representative or contact person, we use your data to communicate with you about billing, send updates and information on subscribed services, conduct satisfaction surveys, and improve our services.
- Publish your listings on our website, apps, and media partners.
As a job candidate, we process the information you provide when applying for a job, submitting your CV, or through a recruitment portal, to manage our selection and recruitment processes.
We also use your personal data to comply with our legal obligations, including:
- Managing our accounting and tax obligations.
- Responding to your requests related to your rights (right of access, rectification, etc.) or to a complaint about our products and services.

We use your personal information, such as your real estate profile, budget, and search preferences (e.g., properties you’ve saved as favorites or requested a visit for) to better understand your needs through an automated system. This allows us to:
- Share more relevant information with real estate agencies when you make a request so they can offer you a more personalized service.
- Send you more relevant offers that match your profile, if you’ve agreed to receive communications from our group.
You can update this information at any time in your user account. As this information is provided by you, you are responsible for its accuracy.
It's important to note that data such as your age, income, or personal contribution are not shared with our partners (real estate agencies or other providers) to respond to your request. Additionally, no automated decisions are made for rejection or approval based on this profile.
You have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data for profiling purposes. Furthermore, all decisions made based on this profiling include human intervention and do not have a legal or significant effect on you.

IV. WHY IS IT NECESSARY TO PROVIDE YOUR PERSONAL DATA TO US?
If you refuse to provide the requested data for certain services, we may be unable to fulfill our role or respond to your requests.
V. HOW DO WE SHARE AND TRANSFER YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

VI. HOW LONG ARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA RETAINED?
- If you are registered on our website or applications, we will retain your data as long as your account remains active. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- For online services such as simulations or estimates, your data will be retained for 6 months unless you continue to use these services. After that, they will be anonymized for statistical purposes.
- For customer service, we will keep your data for as long as necessary to process your request.

- In the context of recruitment, we will retain your information for 12 months after the end of the process unless you have agreed for us to keep your CV for other opportunities. If you are hired, your data will be integrated into your employee file.
- Finally, some data will be retained as long as required by law.
